Multidisciplinary Framework
DHBs receive funding to support a range of cancer control strategy initiatives, including the formation of multidisciplinary cancer teams. The purpose of a multidisciplinary team is to facilitate best practice for the treatment and care of patients. The multidisciplinary meetings (MDMs) are a formal mechanism to determine the most beneficial treatment plan, engaging professionals with expertise in the diagnosis and management of all patients with cancer.
CCN has formed a MDM Advisory Group to advice on and support the implementation of the MDM framework that has been developed by CCN.
