This project is being led by Paul Smith and Barry Keane, Nurse Directors, CCN with project support from Eleanor Whitehead.

The aim of this project is that patients with cancer have their needs met in terms of access to high quality, timely and well co-ordinated cancer care facilitated by a well trained and resourced cancer nursing workforce.

Project Objectives

  • Scope the context and vision for a cancer nurse strategy with national, regional and district health entities and cancer nursing and other HP workforce members and consumers.
  • Identify existing cancer nursing workforce capacity and capability in the region
  • Develop a regional cancer nurse workforce strategy.
